In 1935 Heinrich Himmler, Richard Walther Darré and Herman Wirth made and organization which one main agendas was making new and Aryan history to German people. Basically it meant whitewashing and creating history, accepting sources without criticism when it suited their lore and using heavy criticism when it didn't. Archeological findings were fitted on that "history", they become legos to fit their history, not objects that critically can alter history or confirm it.
What was taught at school and what was displayed in museums were key elements to teach "Aryan race" their sanitized, glorious history. It was basically fictious history for fictious people, because Aryan race... doesn't exist.
But that is now history, right? Alas, it is not. In march 27th, 2025, president Donald Trump signed a presidential action Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.

The truth it sanitizes all right. Though sanity it has not:
(iii) take action, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, to ensure that all public monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties within the Department of the Interior’s jurisdiction do not contain descriptions, depictions, or other content that inappropriately disparage Americans past or living (including persons living in colonial times), and instead focus on the greatness of the achievements and progress of the American people or, with respect to natural features, the beauty, abundance, and grandeur of the American landscape.
"[...] or other content that inappropriately disparage Americans past or living". So far that inappropriate content has been slavery, LBGTQ and everything that right wing sees as "woke". About Smithsonian museum in Washington Trump said that
"The Smithsonian Institution includes “nothing about success, nothing about brightness, nothing about the future.”"
Do we see any parallers to Anenerben? Yes we do. And in a country that is based on histories that are "woke" it is absurd. The history of United States is full of brutal colonialism, slavery and racism, as it is also full of greatness and achievements. The "woke" things in history writings exist because it is there to give us a lesson for something that we don't want to repeat.
